Bronx Park, stone retaining wall with stairs to Bronx Park East at Burke Avenue. It is not clear from the documents I have seen whether the retaining wall and steps were built by the WPA, or were already there when the WPA started its landscaping project. But if the land was completely wild prior to 1940, what would be the purpose of the steps?
