Destroyer USS Downes DD-375. Built at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and launched 22 April 1936. Severely damaged at Pearl Harbor in 1941, rebuilt and relaunched in 1943[3]. Saw service in the Pacific, 1944-45, earning four World War II battle stars. Decommissioned and scrapped in 1947.
