Underneath the George Washington Bridge in at Fort Washington Point in
Fort Washington Park at West 179th Street. The Park continues to the
north from here but is mostly wild and undeveloped, except for Fort Tryon
Park and the Cloisters. Then at Dyckman Street there is the second New Deal
boat basin, La Marina, and north of it a continuation of the park with ball
fields and game courts west of the railroad tracks and Inwood Hill Park east
of them, and that brings us to the tippy-top of Manhattan Island and the end
of the West Side Improvement. Except for the
Henry Hudson Bridge and the continuation
of the Henry Hudson Parkway to the Bronx-Yonkers boundary, but that's
another story.
