It is fitting that at the entrance to Riverside Park's south end at 72nd
Street and Riverside Drive stands a statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of
Franklin Delano Roosevelt and one of the great humanitarians of all time.
The sculptor was Penelope Jencks and the statue was dedicated October 5,
1996. In it, and in Riverside Park itself, the New Deal lives on.
